My side job experiences

In my opinion, it is really useful and important to make time free to have a side job next to your study. It certainly gives you an improvement of communication skills, customer services, practical skills, discipline, teamwork experience and sales/marketing backgrounds of real companies.

Over time, I had several side jobs which were diverse and informative for me:

Hunkemöller X Sports store - Sales Advisor and promotions (social media)

Rituals Cosmetics Store - Sales Advisor

Sandd - Logistics Assistant

Stadskelder Montfoort - Server and Hostess

Groenblok bv Tuincentrum Overvecht - Sales Associate

Because of this retail, logistical and hospitality experience, I got involved with many teams which required good communication, discipline and perseverance. After all, I am happy I experienced working next to my daily school classes. 

It also helped me understand why I like an office job more than a practical job on the work floor. While I was working at Hunkemöller and Rituals, for example, I always was so curious to read about merchandising, purchasing of articles, the way of promoting products and social media. In the stores, I always wanted to know the ''behind the scenes'' stories of how merchandises were created or why the management chose for particular promotions or products.
