Working at an advertising agency in Malta: TBWA/ANG
During my study curriculum, I got the chance to do my internship abroad. To do this, I had to examine my wishes for a country to live in and what kind of internship I wished for. As a result, I connected with TBWA\ANG, a Maltese advertising agency.
At this company, I got the function as an International Brand Executive intern. I was part of the brand leader team at this well-known advertising agency. In Malta, the agency works for premium clients such as McDonald's, AirMalta, Brown's and Toyota.
My tasks generally included:
- Client competitor and market research
Insight in strategy, client services, creation and production
Google/Facebook analytics, Ad words, targeted ads
Social media strategy and content creation
Experience with disruptive thinking
Supplier contact
Involvement in the creation of campaigns (production)
This time was for me really adventurous when it comes to starting a new life abroad and working in a company. I really loved the creative and out-of-the-box approach of the company TBWA. Through this time, I developed my eagerness to learn more about the processes at an agency.
Next to my internship, I wrote a positioning plan for TBWA\ANG to position themselves better in the Maltese advertising market. In this report, I conducted elaborative research about the Maltese advertising market, their main competitors, trends and developments. relevant country facts and so on. In the end, I could give them relevant strategic, operational and tactical recommendations to improve their position. This plan and the internship have been marked with final grades of a 7.7 and an 8.3.
